2 of our bitches are now mated!
Both Wendy and Milla has now met
each gentleman.
Milla, stubborn as she can be, choose her own stud dog. She
preferred little "Ille Pille",
Sher Ilhan, living in
Kennel Gold Standard. Once again we went for our Prinsen for Wendy.
He is the male that best complements her. Their first litter
together became as far as we can se today, very promising. |

Premiere in the show ring!
Meeko and his sister Dea has been on their first show.
The preparations was not the best; Meeko got a diarrhoea
after the conference last weekend and refused to eat for
four days.
Dea came in heat for the first time just before the dog
show.
Despite all this we are very pleased with their performance
and result.
The critiques from the judge (Ove Germundson) was very good
for both youngsters.

Conference for exterior judges!
Last Saturday we were invited to show our dogs when the
Swedish Toydog Association arranged a conference for judges in
Nyköping, Sweden.
Some 50 judges participated to learn more about some of the breeds
in group 9.
Annelee and Patrik Cederlöf, kennel Gold
Standard, brought 4 dogs and we brought 5 (Prinsen,
Wendy, Shanti, Meeko and Kajsa).
Kenneth Edh, judge and chairman of our Club, made a thorough review
of the breed and it's history. Afterwards, the judges inspected all
dogs, one at a time, to learn all their advantages and weaknesses.
The judges were impressed with the dogs nice temperaments and we
hope we managed to make one or two so interested in our breed that
they want to specialize in RT's. |

We received an e-mail !
Look how handsome I am!
Today we received an e-mail from Sofia and Johan, owner of
Djurgardens Gentle Galahad, Milton.
Milton is our first born RT. Of course we are proud of such
beautiful grandchildren.Samarskiy Favorit Klim really contributes
with his magnificent colour to his children. Especially the smooth
haired variety, seldom has this deep red colouring.
The G litter are now 11 months and both Dea and Meeko will enter
their first show on Sunday in Stockholm.

Kajsa and Shantis first
contact with snow!
Kajsa could not get enough, she wanted more and more. She
forced the snow like a plough, looking up from time to time
wondering why we had never shown her this big, white, fluffy toy
before.
Shanti, like the little lady she is, hid under the patiofloor
wondering if we might wipe the floor for her so she wouldn't get her
little feet wet.

Shanti x-rayed her leg again!
Her leg is healing perfect and the veterinarian could not see any
breakage at all. The metal plate is still there and if we choose to
remove it, the best time should be in 2-3 months. We just have to
decide what is best for Shanti, if we leave the plate there is a
risk of her leg getting weaker in the future, but if we remove it,
the leg will be week for 8-12 weeks due to the holes from the screws
holding the plate.
We have some issues to consider, but we will
definitely x-ray her leg again in 2-3 months and see how it looks
then.
Anyhow, she has been such a good girl and accepted
all parts in her rehabilitation so well. |

Ann has learned about mating and
whelping :o)
The third part of the Kennelclub's
Breeders education was very useful even though we have had a number
of litters in our kennel already. That is even better as we are
planning to mate both Milla and Wendy in December.
We will probably repeat the combination from last
year with Wendy and our Prinsen. That litter has turned out
wonderful, both in temperament and exterior.
Regarding Millas partner, we will get back to that
when all arrangements are completed. |

The second part of the Breeders
education finished!
Ann finished the second part of the
Breeders education. Very interesting, wish I had done it earlier!
In November I will do genetics and nutrition!
The 23 of October I will continue my course in the
Russian language, very fun, but oh so hard. I don't have any
studying technique anymore, so it is really hard work. Luckily our
teacher is fantastic, with the patience of an angel! |

Shanti on her next visit at the
animal hospital!
Today Shanti went back to the hospital
where she had her operation.
It has now gone four weeks since the accident that demanded an
immediate surgery. Her leg heals nicely and the veterinary was very
pleased with what she saw on the x-ray pictures that was taken.
Shanti now runs around as if the fracture never
happened.
The veterinary gave us instructions to take longer and longer walks
in a leash to try gain back some muscle mass. She has lost more that
15 % of bodyweight in just four weeks! |

The Djurgården dogs
presented to Swedish judges!
Kennel Djurgården and kennel Gold
Standard got the honour to represent the breed at the first
presentation for official Swedish judges.
We brought 4 of our dogs and got the opportunity to learn a lot,
listening to the judges discussions.
Kenneth Edh, chairman of the Swedish Russkiy Toy Club and a well
known and experienced judge, started by giving telling the 15
participating judges his view of the breed. We hope to get some of
the judges to specialize in Russkiy Toy. Before the evening was over
several judges already signed up to learn more and specialize in the
breed.
Our little Kajsa tagged along and got standing ovation thanks to her
plucky temperament.

Djurgården's Golden Godiva (Dea) with the best
master a dog can have!
Awaiting to be inspected by the judges. |

Shanti's medication terminated!
So far everything goes as well as can be expected. Shanti does not
seem to understand that she just recently had an operation and got a
metalplate screwed in to her bone. She just wants to go play with
the other dogs and her life outside the flock is a bit boring. |

Dea came to visit!
She was as usual escorted by her master. Dea's mistress and Monica
also tagged along.
All four very curious to see Kajsa.
Dea (Djurgården's Golden Godiva), beautiful as always and it seems
that she growth more and more looking as her father. Can you see the
similarity. Dea is a real charmer and she has always a lot of kisses
in stock! |

Shanti broke her leg!
She crashed into the livingroom table playing with the other dogs.
She had an operation that so far seems succesful. She had to stay
the night and we could pick her up with strict instruction to keep
her calm.
Now we have 8 weeks with rehabilitation of massage, medication,
gentle walks in a leash and stretching. |

Ida has passed away!
Our "super nanny", Ida, left us today! She became 16 yers
old and is of course greatley missed! Ida was a fantastic mother,
both to her own and others puppies. Gentle, calm and as self assured
as a dog can be. |

Shanti
is finally home!
We had a nice trip
to Helsinki when we finally could pick her
up after the blood test showed enough antibodies for rabies.
The other dogs at home really appreciated the happy little newcomer. |

The first part of
the Breeders education completed!
Ann has completed the first part of the Swedish Kennelclub Breeders
education - anatomy. The education consists of 6 parts; anatomy,
feeding/nutrition, genetics, mating/whelping, law and the puppies
behaviour. Even though we have been breeders for almost 20 years I
find it very useful and can really recommend it. |
